Behind The Scenes
Zachs Famous Donair Emporium was opened 1995 in Millbourne Mall - South Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
We started as a small kiosk located in the center of the mall. In 2000, we moved from our tiny home to a temporary location while the new upgraded food court was built. Finally in 2001 we adopted our present location.
When we go behind the scenes of Zachs Famous Donair Emporium we find a tight knit family running the show.
Zach's Dad and his family, wife Aminah, two sons Zach and Adam and then there's 'Ausim the nephew'
The narratives with the pictures were done by a dedicated customer who eats Donair just about every other day.
'Zach's Dad'
This is Zachs main man. Codenamed 'Zach's Dad', he takes care of all the dirty everyday buisness at the emporium. Sometimes working 10 to 12 hour shifts can be very stressfull, but not for this man (some believe he's actually a machine)

'Queen of the Donair'
Who keeps Zach in line when he's had too much sugar? Queen Aminah is perhaps the most integral member of the buisness.... she takes Zach's orders and translates them into a language 'Zach's Dad' can understand. She also trains and nutures Adam with chocolate milk as incentive so that one day he can be a Donair Slingin Cowboy.

'The Boss'
This is Zach. We really don't know what he's trying to tell us in this picture but we think it may have something to do with a new Donair Slingin technique which involves stretching the meat before serving...

'Hat Man'
Even though this hat fits a bit large, Zach still tries to impress. These hats come with a Free Donair and quality guarantee!

'Doniar Slicing'
Doniar is cooked on a vertical rotisserie. The cooked meat is then sliced from the base and served fresh when you order.

Zach is showing his dad and employees the correct way to slice some donair.

Sometimes Zach needs to put his foot down and discipline the employees. Customers always come first!

Ausim knows his boss is serious, but he always has a smile.... even in the face of danger.

This shot is titled thus because without this family, you and I would surely be forced to eat second rate donairs from another vendor at a fraction of the love. These are people that make the store what it is today!

This is Zach pouring out the charisma and friendliness he thinks everyone should have as a side-dish with their Donair!
